A New Journey—Finding Strength in Weakness

When I doubt, He encourages me.

When I have fear, He shows me truth.

When I stumble, He picks me up.

He is faithful to my journey.

I created this blog so we could journey together.

A place where I can share my trials and tribulations with you in hopes that it may encourage you, as well as strengthen you in your journey, too. And, what better way to start off this blog, then telling you about the journey it took me to get here.

A few weeks ago, I had a friend show me her website she had been working on, and she turned to me and asked, ‘Have you ever thought about starting a blog?’

I responded to her question with a calm, ‘yes,’ on the outside. But on the inside, my heart leapt with passion and joy about exploring a new writing venture.

We talked more about blogging, website logistics, etc. And then, we prayed for each other and our creative journeys, and I just knew this was only the beginning of something new with the Lord.

But, I’m sure as you know, before you set your sails for a new adventure, every fear tactic of the enemy comes at you to try and stop you from the voyage. So, I’ve had to wrestle through the fears and doubts that have come up with starting this blog. And during this, I’ve been reminded of 2 Corinthians 12:9.

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. -2 Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV)

The creative journey with this website and blog has been just that— my weakness and His strength.

I knew very little about creating websites—words are more my thing. So, I began to research domains, website builders, etc. Before I even really got started, I was overwhelmed. I felt like I was staring at a mountain, and I wasn’t sure I could or would reach the summit. So, I shut my computer—thinking I couldn’t climb the mountain in front of me. It was just too difficult.

Then, a few days later, as I wrestled with more of my fears and doubts, I could feel the Lord’s encouragement to try again—He was strengthening me. This time, before starting on the website, I sat down and prayed for the Lord to give me grace to work on the website, as well as wisdom and revelation to build the website. It was a simple prayer.

And, he met me there.

That’s when everything began to come together. I suddenly knew how to set up the website, and I received revelation on how to design the website and incorporate my photography into it. I even began to have fun as I created the website—watch out! Because there’s joy in the journey with Him.

I was also reminded of the last sentence in 2 Corinthians 12:9,

“Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

When I thought I didn’t have the strength to do it, the Lord strengthened me and encouraged me. Even as I wrestled on whether or not to share this part of my story on the blog, He reminded me His glory is revealed in His strength and my weakness.

So, wherever you are in your journey with the Lord, I hope this encourages you to dream and try again. He is faithful in your journey with Him, too. You are able to overcome fears and doubts because He is the strength in your weaknesses.
